Hummel Planetarium opened on November 16, 1988 on the Eastern Kentucky University campus in Richmond, KY. It is the largest planetarium of its kind in Kentucky, and one of the most sophisticated Planetariums in the United States, especially on a university campus. The Planetarium currently seats 194 guests.
Hummel Planetarium re-opens July 8
At the end of May, the Planetarium was closed for maintenance. It's scheduled to re-open July 8, 2019. Shows are available for the public only during times Hummel Planetarium schedules and announces. The planetarium is open for private and public showings. Tickets go on sale 30 minutes before each show.
